The story of this device

Conceived by legendary designer Yoshihisa Maitani, the OM-1 dismantled the belief that professional SLRs had to be bulky and deafeningly loud. Introducing air dampers for whisper-quiet shutter slap inside an ultra-compact chassis, it ignited an industry-wide miniaturization wave.
