The Samsung Gear 2 adopted Samsung's lightweight Tizen OS, substantially improving battery longevity to nearly three days. Relocating the 2.0MP camera into the watch body allowed standard 22mm strap replacement, while an integrated optical heart-rate monitor and IR blaster expanded daily utility.
